Sanctuary Point Preschool
As part of the NSW Government’s commitment to build 100 public preschools by Term 1 2027, our school has been selected to receive one of the new preschools.
Sanctuary Point Public Preschool will soon welcome families and children into a supportive, inclusive and play-based learning environment within our whole school community. Our preschool will be a valued part of our school and give children the best start in life and early learning.
At our preschool, children will explore, ask questions and learn through play. Our experienced staff will support children to have a positive transition into Kindergarten. We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our preschool when it opens.
We encourage you to contact us to speak with our friendly staff, learn more about our facilities and discover how our preschool can support your child’s early learning and development.
Expressions of interest (EOIs) to enrol at Sanctuary Point Public Preschool are not yet open. We will keep our school community informed and provide further information once EOIs open.
Public preschools enrol children for one year only, in the year before they start school. Children can enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn 4 years of age before 31 July that year.
Unlike NSW public schools, there are no enrolment boundaries for public preschools. Children do not need to live in our school’s local enrolment intake area (catchment area) to apply. If the number of applications exceeds the number of available places, enrolments will be prioritised in accordance with the Public Preschool Enrolment Procedure.
Enrolment in a preschool class does not guarantee a place in kindergarten at our school. School Finder can help families find their local public school. For more information, please contact our school office or visit Enrolment in a public preschool page.
Our preschool will be an approved early learning service and operate under the National Quality Framework.
We will provide a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment where children feel supported to learn, grow and thrive.
Our child to staff ratio will be 10:1 and every class will be staffed with a university-trained early childhood teacher (ECT) and a trained School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) to ensure the high-quality delivery of early learning education.
Our learning program will offer age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences guided by the Early Years Learning Framework.
Our preschool follows a range of policies and procedures to ensure children receive high quality education and care in a safe and inclusive environment.
Further information will be provided to families when your child is offered a place. Please contact us for more information.
Introducing our dedicated staff members
We are excited to introduce the three dedicated staff members who will form the foundation of our new preschool team at Sanctuary Point Public School.
Miss Aleysha joins as a Preschool Teacher, bringing over 17 years of experience in early childhood education and a strong commitment to creating engaging, play-based learning environments where every child feels valued and supported. As a parent herself, she values strong partnerships with families and looks forward to nurturing each child’s unique strengths and interests.
Alongside her, Miss Lisa our second Preschool Teacher brings more than 20 years of experience working with children and families across early learning, inclusion and Department preschool settings. She is passionate about fostering curiosity, creativity and play, and is excited to work in partnership with families to support each child’s growth and development.
Miss Shynice joins the team as our School Learning Support Officer, having worked at our school for seven years across both mainstream and support settings. She brings a deep commitment to inclusive education and is looking forward to warmly welcoming families and children into the preschool community.
All staff will be working closely with the preschool leadership team to engage in targeted professional learning and complete service approval requirements in preparation for our opening in Term 4. We are currently in the build and service approval stage, and we look forward to sharing regular updates via this website, including key information about Expressions of Interest for enrolment as they become available.
