High potential and gifted education
High Potential and Gifted Education
At Sanctuary Point Public School, we recognise and nurture the diverse talents, strengths, and passions of all students. Our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) approach ensures every child is challenged, inspired, and supported to reach their full potential—whether in the intellectual, creative, social-emotional, or physical domains. Through differentiated learning, enrichment opportunities, and small-group extension programs, we encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
We provide a rich variety of opportunities for students to excel beyond the classroom. Our representative sports teams allow students to showcase their athletic ability and sportsmanship at school, district, and regional levels. Dedicated arts programs, including visual arts, music, choir, and school band, offer creative outlets where students can explore their talents and express themselves with confidence. At Sanctuary Point Public School, we believe that every child deserves the chance to shine—and we take pride in helping them do just that.
What is high potential and gifted education?
High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.
Our high potential and gifted education opportunities
Our students engage with HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW. More information can be found on the HPGE toolkit .
