Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Year 1
Our Year 1 students are budding scientists, full of curiosity and wonder. Through hands-on scientific investigations, they explore the world around them—asking questions, making predictions, testing ideas, and discovering how things work. Whether they’re observing changes, experimenting with materials, or exploring the natural environment, our young learners develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of discovery. At Sanctuary Point Public School, every child is encouraged to think like a scientist from the very beginning of their learning journey.
Year 4
Classrooms at Sanctuary Point Public School are vibrant, supportive spaces where every child feels confident, valued, and ready to learn. Our teachers deliver high-quality lessons that are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the latest NSW curriculum expectations. Students learn through a mix of explicit instruction, hands-on activities, collaborative tasks, and real-world connections that bring learning to life. With a strong focus on wellbeing, relationships, and high expectations, our classrooms are places where students grow academically, socially, and emotionally every day.
At Sanctuary Point Public School, we are incredibly proud to support and celebrate students of all abilities as they participate in both competitive and non-competitive sporting events throughout the year.
From athletics and swimming to ten-pin bowling and boccia, our students demonstrate determination, teamwork and pride every time they represent our school. Sport is about more than competition, it’s about inclusion, confidence, and celebrating every achievement, big or small.
For students with disability, the Athletics with a Disability (AWD) program provides pathways to showcase their skills and compete at district, regional, and even state levels. In 2025, two of our talented students achieved this incredible milestone, representing Sanctuary Point Public School at State Championships, an achievement we are immensely proud of!
To support families, our staff assist with the classification process, which ensures athletes with similar impairments compete fairly. Classifications are managed by national sporting federations, and because the process can take time, families are encouraged to begin early. We’re here to guide and support each step of the way.
We love our school for its supportive community and commitment to every student’s success. Our child feels safe and inspired every day. — a parent of Sanctuary Point Public School
