At Sanctuary Point Public School, every child is known, valued and cared for. Our teaching staff

Your child’s school experience is shaped by the people around them. Our teachers bring experience, care and a passion for learning to every lesson. With a focus on success, they help every child reach their full potential.

Our teaching staff

Principal - works collaboratively with the school community including; the school executive team, teachers and all staff, P & C and the wider community, to establish and implement programs and systems that support the social, emotional and academic learning of all students.

Deputy Principals - works collaboratively to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and student success. The Deputy Principal – Inclusion and Support leads personalised learning, inclusive education, and wellbeing initiatives, while managing whole-school operations and fostering strong community partnerships.

Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Inclusion - Instructional leaders lead the professional learning of teachers to develop high quality teaching practices that are evidence based. Instructional leaders support teachers through a wide range of approaches including observations of classroom practice, structured feedback, one-on-one mentoring and coaching in specific aspects of pedagogy.

Assistant Principals - As members of the executive team, they assist the principal and senior executive with school management, student activities, community relations, and curriculum instruction. They lead events, work closely with families to discuss learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Classroom Teachers-

We have 16 highly trained mainstream teachers who teach students from Kindergarten to Year 6, planning and delivering programs that support intellectual, physical, and social development. In addition, we have seven specialist Support Teachers that are trained to meet the needs of diverse learners, using evidence-based, inclusive education approaches.

Learning and Support Teachers-

Our Learning and Support Teachers provide direct, timely specialist assistance and small group tuition to students in mainstream classes who have additional learning and support needs. Their work focuses on individual student needs, school priorities, and evidence-based programs to ensure every learner is supported. We also have a specialised English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) teacher—one of the only EALD-specific teachers in the area—dedicated to meeting the unique needs of students from diverse language backgrounds.

Aboriginal Education Officer -34% of our students are proud First Nations learners, whose culture, identity, and wellbeing is deeply value and celebrated. Our Aboriginal Education Officer ensures students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in rich cultural experiences while playing a vital role in strengthening connections between the school and community.
